Is your daughter a tomboy?

How do you deal with the situation? Do you encourage her interests or do you try to make her a girly girl? What kind of surroundings/role models does she have?
Or is she a mixture of both?
My daughter is a mixture. Sometimes she is so girly girlish and other times you'd think she was a boy. She has an older brother by 2 years. She also likes to do what her dad does as well as what I do. She loves her bike, swimming, climbing trees, playing ball, dolls, playing her guitar, animals, dancing, blue jeans and t-shirts, dresses, etc. To me she's a well rounded All American girl.
I am writing an article on the subject so any feedback you have will be appreciated.

My daughter considers herself a tomboy because she does not enjoy being a "sissy foo-foo girl". I say nothing. The fact is, she's both - she is quite a gorgeous little lady, and enjoys jewelry and dressing up for occassions, she simply wants to be able to wrestle and play sports looking cute, is all.

I encourage her activity, because excercise is great for kids no matter their gender. I'd rather her be scraped and bruised and exhausted and healthy than overweight or afraid to get dirty, you know? In fact, in addition to excercise at school and after-school care, she takes combined martial arts 2-3 times per week.

I'm a SP, so there are not a lot of male influences in her life. Some, but not like there would be with a (proper) dad in the house. She is who she is, and I would do nothing to influence her either way. As long as the clothes are appropriate, and the activity is safe, she can be who she wants to be, with me cheering right behind her.
